SOUTHERN BERKSHIRE COMMUNITY TRANSIT STUDY

The purpose of this study is to gauge the transportation needs of southern Berkshire residents with limited transportation options, to assess the extent to which those needs are being met by available services, and to identify ways in which those needs can be better served.

Figure below shows the 32 communities in Berkshire County, with the 12 study area communities highlighted. For this study, the southern Berkshires, also referred to as South County, is defined as the following communities:

  • Alford
  • Egremont
  • Great Barrington
  • Monterey
  • Mount Washington
  • New Marlborough
  • Otis
  • Sandisfield
  • Sheffield
  • Stockbridge
  • Tyringham
  • West Stockbridge
